Made in China. But it bears name. Initial impression is good. Time will tell quality.

I am updating my review after 2 months of use. Overall, this binocular is excellent for general purpose. But there are 2 shortcomings. The first is that objective lens cover does not fit tightly and comes off all the time. Secondly, a bag that comes with binocular is useless, so one needs to purchase a new bag to protect it.
The optics are very good, especially for the price. The adjustable eye-cups help a lot, and these binocs focus really well. The lens guards are slightly clunky but that doesn't really get in the way. I would have liked a more robust case as well, but again, not really a problem.

The lens quality and light capture was the best by far of anything I looked at in the price category. I guess you expect that with German lens manufacturing. Highly recommend.
I was able to spend extended time examining these binoculars. First off, it's proudly made in China. The optics are crystal clear giving excellent color contrast. I'm 6ft 3in. With these binoculars, I could almost bring focus on my shoes! The close up focus range is within seven feet and tack sharp. These binoculars are excellent for bird watching and many general purposes. This product is not bulky and it is lightweight with just enough "heft" making it feel solid. The center focus wheel is excellent.
Sure you can spend a heap more money on binoculars if you want to impress your friends. For birding and general use, you can't go wrong with the Zeiss Terra.
